Holistic, Effective and Accessible Psychotherapy
Parker Bowling, LCSW
Are you feeling stuck in your healing journey, progress in therapy or life in general? I specialize in supporting people who are ready to take a different approach to therapy that gets to the root cause of your symptoms.
Rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis, we will work together to understand the origins of your suffering and then co-create an actionable path towards both healing and living a more meaningful day-to-day life.
I have over five years of experience working as a psychotherapist and social worker and received my Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville. I am also certified as a mindfulness meditation teacher through Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield’s two-year teacher training program and have experience supporting people who are engaged in changemaking of all sorts, including activists, non-profit leaders and folks working in caring professions.

Focus Areas
I have over four years of experience supporting people through all of life's challenges, including:
Anxiety: generalized, social, phobias, panic, impacts of political instability and climate/eco anxiety
Trauma: acute stress, PTSD, developmental trauma and complex trauma (CPTSD)
Depression: major depression, persistent depression, Bipolar II, PMDD
Life transitions: grief, family planning, career, gender affirmation, existential questioning, spirituality
Relationships: couples counseling, non-monogamous relationships, queer relationships
Approaches to therapy
I take an eclectic approach to psychotherapy that includes a mix of integrative, holistic and evidence-based techniques:
EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (basic training completed in 2024)
MBCT: Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy
ACT: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
IFS: Internal Family Systems (and other types of 'parts' work)
MI: Motivational Interviewing
Fees, Insurance and Scheduling
I offer remote 50-55 min sessions Monday-Thursday mornings for clients who reside in Kentucky, Virginia and Vermont.
My base rate is $130 for private pay, with several sliding scale spots available upon inquiry. I offer couples counseling for $130 with sliding scale spots available as well.
I am currently in-network with Aetna, Cigna and United (Optum) commercial insurance for KY, VT & VA only. I can provide a Super Bill for out-of-network reimbursement for other insurances. Unfortunately I am not able to accept Medicaid or Medicare plans at this time
Think we might be a good fit?
